Alabama Lawyer
Alabama became the 22nd state to join the nation in 1819. Its capital, Montgomery, was the first capital of the Confederacy. In 1836, Alabama became the first state to declare Christmas a legal holiday. The state was the scene of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and other pivotal events in the American Civil Rights Movement. The Boll Weevil Monument stands in Enterprise.
