QUESTIONNAIRE
1. We know how to interpret and understand the applicable law. But hopefully most lawyers do. 2. To be successful, however, a lawyer must understand the needs of his client. Prompt response times to clients and treating all clients with respect instead of a ""file"", is important to us. Your legal matter is top priority. Unfortunately, this is not always the case with many busy lawyers.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?1. Understanding the issues and how to approach resolving them in a manner beneficial to the client. 2. We strive to communicate with our clients in a way which puts the client at ease and is clear. A client should never feel that asking the lawyer questions is bothersome. 3. Make sure the lawyer has experience in practicing the type of law involved.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?A lawyer who has practiced in the same locality for a long time knows the courts, judges and procedure used in those courts. This can be a big advantage. We have been in practice in southwest Michigan for over 35 years.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?We spend a great deal of time assisting people for no charge who call us on the phone. We can provide general legal advice and in some cases specific advice.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?As much detail as possible. In many cases though materials and documents should be brought into the office for our review to give the best advice.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?Besides from the advantages mentioned above, our fees are reasonable and affordable. Unlike many other established law firms, we offer discounts, flat fees, and payment plans in many types of cases.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?It is a cliche to say ""helping people"" but that is what it is all about. A client needs an experienced lawyer to represent him or her in a difficult time. A level headed, practical lawyer can assist in understanding the legal complexities of resolving a dispute faster and more economically. Taking on this challenge and succeeding is what excites us every day.
What are your other interests in addition to law?I have been an avid tennis player my entire life and love to swim, bike and run. I also enjoy watching and talking about all kinds of movies, new and old.
