An old-fashioned term for a female executor--the person named in a will to handle the distribution of the deceased person's property. Now, whether male or female, this person is called either the executor or the personal representative.

A doctrine that prevents a defendant from re-litigating an issue after it has been lost. The tenant is still completely responsible to the landlord for the rent and for any damage, including that caused by the sublessee. A home loan in which the lender gets a share of the equity of the home in exchange for providing a portion of the down payment. When the home is later sold, the lender is entitled to a portion of the proceeds.
