Rupert Koblegard | Fort Pierce Family Law Lawyer

A lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, R.N. Koblegard, III has more than 40 years of experience as a trial lawyer and has handled most types of law in his general practice. He received his legal training at the University of Florida.

Mr. Koblegard began his career as a clerk at the Florida Supreme Court for Justice Alto Adams. That service was followed by working as an associate or partner with prestigious Fort Pierce law firms which included as partners several now-retired circuit judges, including Rupert J. Smith, Ben L. Bryan, Jr., and Scott M. Kenney. Mr. Koblegard acquired a great deal of experience in criminal law by serving at different times as an Assistant State Attorney and an Assistant Public Defender for the 19th Judicial Circuit. On both the prosecution and defense sides, Mr. Koblegard has handled more than 200 criminal trials. Those trials consisted of high-profile capital murder cases, complex and lengthy white-collar crime cases, and tax fraud cases in state and federal courts. In his private practice, Mr. Koblegard has achieved settlements or verdicts for his clients ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000.

As general counsel for the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority since 1995, Mr. Koblegard has garnered knowledge and experience in government law and contracts.

Mr. Koblegard is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts (trial and appellate levels), including the Middle and Southern Districts of the United States District Court and the United States and Florida Supreme Courts. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and was a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney from 1991 to 2006. He is a former member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
