My client was arrested by the police for not having a KY driver's license - even though she was not driving a car. We were able to have the criminal charge filed against her dismissed. We also obtained a financial settlement from the City of Louisville for the officer's unlawful arrest.

Cases
Case: Allgeier v. MV Transportation, Inc. Summary: Passenger who used wheelchair filed suit for negligence and gross negligence against paratransit company, on the basis of respondeat superior and its own negligence, for personal injuries suffered in fall on paratransit bus. Jury verdict of $4.2 million in compensatory damages. The Circuit Court, Jefferson County, dismissed passenger's claim for punitive damages and entered judgment in favor of passenger for compensatory damages based on jury verdict. Passenger appealed denial of claim for punitive damages, and paratransit company cross-appealed judgment awarding compensatory damages. The Court of Appeals affirmed jury verdict award, reversed dismissal of punitive damages claims, and remanded for trial on punitive damages. Affirmed by the Supreme Court of Kentucky. Result: $4.2 million for the Plaintiff Case: Settlement with City and Police Department Summary: An individual was unlawfully arrested. We obtained a settlement with the police department and city for the false arrest. Result: Settlement for my client
