He was also placed on probation for one year following reinstatement, ordered to pay restitution and assessed the costs and expenses of the disciplinary proceedings. In count one, Respondent was hired to assist his clients in collecting a ,149.00 balance owed to their trucking company. His clients rejected an offer to settle for ,000 early in the representation. Respondent failed to comply with disclosure requirements and failed to appear at a hearing, resulting in a dismissal of his clients case and a judgment against them for 3,091.00. Respondent failed to consult with his clients and failed to communicate with them throughout the proceedings. Respondent further failed to provide the clients with their documents at termination of representation and charged an unreasonable fee. In count three, the clients hired Respondent to file a lawsuit against their neighbors for defamation and emotional distress arising out of a special-use permit for their home. Respondent failed to file the suit and perform other legal services within the time frame requested by the clients and failed to inform them he had not done so. Respondent further failed to keep the clients informed about the status of their case and revealed information to them regarding the representation of another client without consent.
