Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I recently handled an eviction case that would normally take six to eight weeks to resolve. By acting quickly and using an aggressive legal strategy, I was able to secure a deal with the opposing counsel in just three days, protecting my client’s property rights and giving them immediate relief. This case highlights how swift, strategic action can make all the difference when property and peace of mind are on the line.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built my practice by combining hard work, trial-tested advocacy, and a personal approach to client service. From day one, I focused on treating every case as if it were going to trial and making sure clients always felt heard and supported. I also invested in building strong community connections — through local events, networking, and word of mouth — which has helped me grow a trusted reputation. Success, to me, comes from consistently fighting for clients and being the lawyer they can count on.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer who combines experience, local knowledge, and clear communication. Your attorney should understand the type of case you’re facing, explain your options in plain language, and prepare every matter as if it could go to trial. Reputation, responsiveness, and transparency with fees are also key — you want someone you can trust to protect your rights and guide you through every step of the process.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is extremely important. Every county in Florida has its own procedures, judges, and prosecutors — and understanding how those systems work can make a real difference in the outcome of a case. Familiarity with the local courts allows me to anticipate how cases are handled, build stronger strategies, and guide clients with confidence.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In a free phone consultation, I can explain how the law applies to your situation, outline what to expect in the process, and discuss potential strategies for moving forward. I’ll answer your immediate questions, help you understand your rights, and give you a clear picture of how I can assist. While I can’t resolve a case in one call, you’ll leave the consultation with a better understanding of your options and next steps.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

During a free phone consultation, I just need the basics of your situation — what happened, where it happened, and what stage the case is in. For criminal defense, that might mean the charges filed, upcoming court dates, or whether you’ve already spoken with law enforcement. For personal injury, it could be how the accident occurred, the injuries involved, and whether medical treatment has begun. From there, I’ll guide the conversation and explain your options. You don’t need to have all the answers — just being honest and open helps me give you the best advice from the start.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I bring a trial-tested approach and a personal commitment to every case. Many firms focus on volume — I focus on people. At LK Law, clients know they’ll work directly with me, not get lost in layers of staff. I prepare each case as if it’s going to trial, which strengthens negotiations and protects my clients’ futures. I also take pride in being approachable and responsive, so clients always feel supported and informed.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding part of my work is helping people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. Whether it’s defending someone against criminal charges or guiding an injury victim after an accident, I’m able to take a heavy burden off their shoulders and fight for a better outcome. Seeing the relief in a client’s face when they know they have someone in their corner — that’s what makes this work meaningful to me.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Outside of the courtroom, I’m deeply involved in the Jeep community. I love taking part in local Jeep events, trail rides, and community fundraisers, and I bring that same adventurous, hands-on spirit to my law practice. I also value time with my husband and our dog, and enjoy the balance that family life gives me. Being connected both personally and professionally helps me stay grounded and ready to fight for my clients.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes. I’m actively involved in the local community, from supporting Jeep events and fundraisers to building connections with local businesses and professionals. I believe community involvement makes me a better advocate because it keeps me connected to the people I serve. Whether it’s through networking, sponsorships, or simply showing up to support local causes, I value being part of the community both inside and outside the courtroom.
