Steve Deck graduated from Highland Park High School, Dallas, Texas, in 1960. HE attended Southern Methodist University, Dallas and graduated in 1964 with a B.B.A. degree in marketing.

Mr. Deck then joined the family vegetable growing, packing and shipping business after graduation from college. He served on active duty in the United States Army in 1965, was then commissioned an officer in the Army National Guard and served until 1972.

Mr. Deck is licensed as a multi-engine, instrument-rated pilot.

Mr. Deck served on the Board of Hidalgo Water Control and Improvement District No. 3 from 1977 to 1979 and was President of Hidalgo County Water Control and Improvement District No. 6 from 1981 through 1984.

In the late 1980's Mr. Deck's family got our of the vegetable business and he decided to go to law school. He graduated from law school in December 1991, took the Texas Bar in February 1992 and was licensed to practice law in May 1992.

Since becoming licensed, he has conducted a general civil practice with an emphasis on Appellate Practice and, more recently, Real Estate Law.

Mr. Deck is licensed to practice in all of the courts of the State of Texas, in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas and in the United States Court of Appeals Fifth Circuit. He has tried and/or conducted cases in Hidalgo, Cameron, Webb, Jim Hogg, Brooks, Nueces, Harris, Dallas, Travis, Lubbock, McLennan, Bexar, Comal Counties of Texas and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas, including Bankruptcy Courts. He has argued cases in the Corpus Christi, El Paso, San Antonio, Waco and Tyler Courts of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Deck is a member of the Texas State Bar, the Hidalgo County Bar Association and the Bar Association of The Fifth Federal Circuit. He has been a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, an organization for attorneys who have more than twice the required hours of continuing legal education early, since 2000.

The general areas in which Mr. Deck practice are Appellate Law, Civil Litigation, Probate Law, closing real estate transactions, resolving real estate problems, forming business entities, drafting agreements and by-laws for business entities, drafting documents for subdivisions and defending sexual harassment claims.
