Marissa Celine Gordon, Associate Attorney

Marissa Gordon graduated cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University, located in Albany, New York in May of 2020. Marissa was awarded the Matrimonial Law Prize, awarded to the student with the highest grade in the course.

Ms. Gordon passed the New York State Bar Exam and was admitted in April of 2021.

Ms. Gordon began her legal career at the Washington County District Attorney’s Office as a legal intern. While there, she assisted in witness preparation, observed an innumerable amount of court appearances, second seated a DWI trial, assisted in jury selection, and conducted a trespass trial where she secured a conviction.

In pursuit of a career in Matrimonial and Family Law, following her internship at the Washington County District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Gordon began as an intern at The Colwell Law Group, LLC during her second year of law school. She was promoted to Law Clerk upon graduating and now joins the firm as an Associate Attorney. While at Colwell Law, Ms. Gordon’s responsibilities have included drafting a plethora of pleadings, assembling and reviewing discovery, communicating with clients, attending numerous court appearances alongside a supervising attorney, and conducting legal research.

Prior to attending Albany Law School, Ms. Gordon received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from The University at Albany, SUNY in 2017.

Ms. Gordon is pleased to continue her legal career here at The Colwell Law Group, LLC and greatly looks forward to expanding her already established knowledge in the areas of Matrimonial and Family Law. During her time at Colwell Law, Ms. Gordon has been awarded the designation as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in Upstate New York for 2023. No more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.

When she is not working, Marissa enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Zara, and her family.
