Michael J. Plevyak, Attorney

Mr. Plevyak is a partner in the Litigation Department.  As a trial attorney, he defends companies and individuals in a number of diverse areas of civil law, including product liability, insurance law, medical devices, construction accidents, vehicular and general liability.  He serves as regional trial counsel for a number of companies.

Mr. Plevyak is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.  He is a past President of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, Pennsylvania's association of defense trial attorneys and claims executives, and served for many years on its Board of Directors and as Chair of its Product Liability Committee.  He has written and lectured extensively on civil litigation, product liability, and trial advocacy matters.  He has been a course planner for numerous legal seminars and for the Pennsylvania Defense Institute Trial Academy program and was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.  Mr. Plevyak has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.      

Mr. Plevyak received his B.S. from West Chester University in 1968 and his J.D. in 1977 from Temple University.  He served as an officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Mr. Plevyak has also been admitted to appear before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and in the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  Mr. Plevyak has also been admitted to practice law on a pro hac vice basis in courts of other states in his role as regional trial counsel for certain clients.  He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.
