Philip D. Lauer, Attorney

Philip Lauer has conducted a respected and successful practice in Eastern Pennsylvania for over forty years.  Although his practice has had an emphasis on criminal defense matters, Mr. Lauer has successfully tried to verdict a wide variety of complex civil matters.   Mr. Lauer is regarded as one of the best litigators and most successful criminal defense attorneys in the region.  He has conducted the defense of many high profile cases, some of which have been the subject of productions by NBC Dateline, the Learning Channel and other national media.  Most recently Mr. Lauer obtained an acquittal in a death penalty case in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania with very difficult factual circumstances.  He has represented criminal Defendants and civil litigants in virtually all of the Courts of Eastern Pennsylvania, as well as federal trial and appeals courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Georgia.  He is one of the few lawyers in this area to have appeared and argued before the United States Supreme Court.  He has served as solicitor to local municipalities and boards and currently serves as solicitor to Northampton County Council.  He is a member of and has lectured to a number of professional organizations.  Mr. Lauer's extensive courtroom experience has earned him the respect of clients and colleagues throughout the state.  Mr. Lauer also serves on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's Advisory Committee for the Criminal Rules of Procedure.   Mr. Lauer is a 1968 graduate of the Dickinson School of Law and a 1965 graduate of Lehigh University.  A Lehigh Valley native for his entire life, Mr. Lauer was also a member of the Army Reserves.
