Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Won appeal between homeowner (my client) and Homeowners Association which negated any amount owed by my client into her receiving money from the HOA (which I had to force to pay).
How did you build a successful practice?
Patience, reputation, competence, referrals, online presence.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Honesty, responsiveness, knowledge of the area for which services are sought, reputation.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Very, when the issue is local (politics), not very when the case is simply like an auto accident or breach of contract.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
Depends. If it something that is simple, I may give free advice. If it is a call where the person calling is simply looking for free advice, I will get off the phone as quickly as possible. If the concern is in an area I do not practice in, I may refer the caller to another lawyer, or simply decline the call.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I give as little free advice as possible, but I need to know what the caller's problem is and who the characters are to avoid any conflicts.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Reputation, responsiveness and availability.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Dealing with people: Clients, other lawyers, and judges.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Civic affairs, history, literature, grandchildren, fishing.
Are you involved in your community?
I am involved with the local Zoological Society, have belonged to other non-profit organizations.
Personal Injury, Contract, Wills & Probate, Construction, Car Accident, Copyright, Civil Litigation
