Business break-up, in which partner 1 sued partner 2 (our client). Ultimately negotiated a settlement in which partner 1 waived all claims and paid our client far in excess of the value of the company (more than 5x annual cashflow) to sell his interest to partner 1. Our client was ecstatic with the outcome.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?Local knowledge is very important, especially in transactional cases, because it's not just about whether it is legal, but whether the perception of the person on the other side of the negotiating table.
