TN State Lawyer Additional Information: Biography: Joe Schiffhouer is a Corporate Vice President in the FedEx Corporation legal department and serves as the chief tax and employee benefits legal counsel for the company. A close to 20â€ï¿½year veteran at FedEx, Joe is responsible on an enterprise wide basis for tax and benefits disputes, planning and transactional work across the world. Prior to joining FedEx, Joe was a partner in the Jones, Day law firm, where he worked both in the Washington DC and Pittsburgh PA offices. For two years, he was also a fullâ€ï¿½time faculty member at Duquesne University Law School in Pittsburgh. Joe has spoken at a number of tax and benefit symposia over the years and is Vice Chairman of the ERISA Industry Committee, a trade group which represents large employers on benefit issues before Congress and the regulatory agencies. Joe received a BA, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton in 1974, a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1979 and LLM in Tax from Georgetown University Law School in 1983.
