"Not a bad company... if you know absolutely NOTHING about money. My initial "Financial Advisor" was an idiot. Yes, a total idiot... but he DID get me into a great VUL back in 2002. He only knew what the computer told him to say/do. AND they ONLY recommend and push THEIR products. Honestly... I would ask about stock investments and he said they charge $75 in and again $75 out of the stocks... I left him for TD Ameritrade in Honolulu (downtown). A LOT better. I would say this: In two months, I've cleared +30.54% return on my own investments in stocks. Ameriprise did well... but not even close to double digits. I enjoy investing and watching my money grow with a simple $4.95 fee per trade ($10 beats the hell out of $150 with this company). Also... Ameriprise skims off the top of ALL investments, regardless of the investment amount, 5% BEFORE "load" fees. Just not such a great deal... on a "fair" year, you'll actually lose money!! And when I went to take some profits on 11/01/2017, I was charged $25 for the service!! If you have a slight inkling of how to invest (or not) you're better off doing it yourself. I'd check with the "NO FEE" financial advice from TD Ameritrade. They do it in the Fiduciary manner. (Look it up) Ameriprise charges vary depending on the advisor; however, mine wanted $500 twice a year to tell me what I already knew. Again, if you know absolutely NOTHING about investing, try Ameriprise... BUT, before you send in your hard earned money, call WESLEY GOMEZ direct at TD Ameritrade in Honolulu (Request An Appointment: 808-529-8171 (tell him Joe sent you) or if you're even better, call Fidelity Investments. They are not on Island... but Great U.S. based service 24/7. I have access to trade before and after market hours and internationally (800-343-3548). I would recommend Charles Schwab (866-855-9102) but I've never had the privilege of working with them, so I don't know what to say there. I STRONGLY recommend getting an S&P Index ETF SPYder. (Ticker Symbol: SPDR) It follows the S&P 500, no load (free to buy/sell/hold) and is making a good return: In the past 7 months I'm up 8.66% on this. The local bank (First Hawaiian Bank) is only offering 1.01% APR on an investment.. that's an ANNUAL RETURN for them!! A "SPDR" is the "No Brainer" investment option with little to lose and lots to gain. If you're brave, dabble in the market: My Netflix is up +30% and Amazon is up +16.24% in the past 7 months... and if you have a decent portfolio, that adds up to a nice car or vacation to remember... or a great start to a retirement nest egg or legacy for your kids to inherit someday... hopefully not-too-soon! If this was helpful, please let me know with a "helpful" checkmark below. Cheers!!"

"not even worth half a star worst company ever after 5 years and over $5000 in premiums you collected from me with no claims and I was cancelled because I missed sending my new Debit card number after my account was compromised by some fraudulent charges, going to tell everyone I know and all my thousands of customers to never even think of using your company! And you don`t care enough to even respond Mr. James M. Cracchiolo , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer"

"Buyer be aware!!! On August 01 of 2017 I applied through Costco and was forwarded to Ameriprise Insurance Company. IDS Property Casualty Insurance Company is their real name located in De Pere, WI. Policy AI03255105. President of their company Thomas V. Ealy probably the mastermind behind this scam signs the quotes as well. I was told that after a two and a half hour phone call that am all set with my home and my auto and that you will receive your package within 5-7 business days. I never received the package and instead I received from the Division of Motor Vehicle in Virginia for proof of insurance. I called them on September 20, 2017 and told them that I need my insurance card I was told you have no insurance other that your house. I asked them to correct this mistake and they sent me another form to fill promised me it will be in the same day they receive it. On September 21, 2017 I sent them the documents yet again and they never did anything. My mother passes away I have to leave the country for he funeral I get back to a suspended drivers license, no insurance, and have to file an SR22. Their answer from a Richard Degreef " we never told you that you had insurance". They have ruined my life after a clean 32 year driving record. I had to ask my family to take off from work to drive me to pick up my minor children from day camp and buy food for them. Shame on you guys."
